For those of you who have always wondered about the singularity point when computers become self-aware, here's another interesting thought for you: what if before that, we can just implant computer parts into the human body?
Just think, what if you have a mechanical heart, that can beat so quickly and pump air so fast that you can outran the fastest Olympic runner? I know I've always thought about that.
Here's a movie that takes this concept: Repo Men. You can check out some of the cool posters and a nice synopsis at spill.com page. Just so that those of you out there don't have to click on the link, here's the synopsis:
In the futuristic action-thriller Repo Men, humans have extended and improved our lives through highly sophisticated and expensive mechanical organs created by a company called The Union. The dark side of these medical breakthroughs is that if you don’t pay your bill, The Union sends its highly skilled repo men to take back its property…with no concern for your comfort or survival.
Jude Law plays Remy, one of the best organ repo men in the business. But when he suffers a cardiac failure on the job, he awakens to find himself fitted with the company’s top-of-the-line heart-replacement…as well as a hefty debt. When he can’t make the payments, The Union sends its toughest enforcer, Remy’s former partner Jake (Forest Whitaker), to track him down while Beth (Alice Braga), another debtor, teaches him how to vanish from the system.
So... Jude Law and Forest Whitacre. What do you think? As always, we welcome your comments!
